Austin Seven 1922

Austin 7 was a car produced between 1922 and 1939 by the United Kingdom by the Austin Motor Company. Nicknamed "Baby Austin", he was one of the most popular cars ever produced for the UK market, and sold well abroad. It destroys most other British small cars and bicycles, cars from the beginning of 1920, its impact on the British market was similar to that of the Ford Model T in the U.S.. He was also approved and copied by companies around the world. The very first BMW car, BMW Dixi, was an Austin 7 license, such as the Austin American original. In France they were manufactured and sold as Rosengarts. In Japan Nissan also used to model 7 as the basis for their car home, although they are not licensed. Many Austin 7s were converted into "specials" after World War II, including the first Lotus, the Lotus Mk1, which was based on an Austin 7. That was the strength of the Austin 7 name as the company re-used for early versions of the A30 in 1951 and Mini in 1959.
