Scion unveiled 2013 Scion FR-S during a special event in Los Angeles which will make its official world debut next month at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. FR-S, stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport . Scion FR-S was inspired by the Toyota 2000GT, and distinguishes itself with a sleek and low hood and roof-line that enhances the coupe’s sporty and aggressive nature with aerodynamic efficiency. Scion FR-S is powered by the same engine as the Toyota GT 86, the 2.0 liter, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder unit, treated with Toyota’s D-4s direct and port injection system, developed by Subaru, generating a total output of 197 horsepower and having a peak torque of 205 Nm (151 lb-ft), sent to the rear wheels with the help of a six-speed manual transmission. The front to rear weight ratio is 53:47, a lightweight and rear-wheel drive chassis, a punchy boxer engine fitted with direct injection technology, and one of the lowest centers of gravity found in a production car. 2013 Scion FR-S will hit the roads in the next spring.
